Cherry Time: Seasonal U-pick cherry orchard in the Bay Area.

We had a blast picking cherries at Brentwood's Cherry Time farm this year. This is something that we were waiting for a long time and it did not disappoint.

Cherry Time is a family-owned and operated farm in Brentwood. It is open seasonally from the beginning of May until it is sold out (usually the 2nd weekend of June) for u-pick and pre-picked cherries. It is about one hour drive from San Francisco. There is a big parking lot. No entry fee or reservation is required. Cherries are $4 per pound and cash only. They provide bags and ladders.

It is a great opportunity for spending a family day outside the city. We spend around two hours picking cherries, taking pictures, and just enjoying the farm. Our 2 year old girl loved it!

In addition, the cherries are delicious. They have several kinds of cherries: Bings, Brooks, Coral Champagne, Lapins, Rainer, Royal Tiogas, Sweethearts, and Tulare.

Tips: Go in the morning (it is cooler), wear comfortable clothing and shoes, bring a box to make sure your produce doesn’t roll around the vehicle, don’t forget to wear sunscreen and other skin protection, and bring water.

Picnics in the orchard are not allowed. You can have a picnic at the Veterans Park or have brunch in any restaurant in Brentwood. We chose Dad’s Café (1135 2nd St, Brentwood, CA 94513) and we had a delicious typical American brunch. They have tasty options for the small ones and delish coffee or mimosas for dad and mom.
