Glen Otto Community Park Playground has nearby river beach access.

Glen Otto Community Park is 6.38 acres and is the most heavily used park in the Troutdale park system. Once you go, you'll see why. Aside from the river beach access, it has a lovely forested playground area with picnic tables. The Sandy River borders the park on the east, Beaver Creek borders the park on the west, and Sugarpine-Drive-In borders the park to the north. More about them later.

Glenn Otto Community Park includes a popular swimming beach, riverfront beach access, a large picnic area (including covered picnic benches), grills with special hot coal waste bins, restrooms that are open year-round, and a foot shower for washing off sandy beach feet before getting back in the car to head home, and of course the children's playground. Alcohol and pets are not allowed anywhere in the park. So, leave your pets at home. Glass is also not advised in the park. The playground has swings which are my middle child's favorite. Any playground with swings is where she wants to be. It is a fairly traditional playground. If you want to extend your time in the park, I would head down to the beach to have a snack or throw rocks if you don't have swim gear.

You can bring your own picnic to the playground area where there are many picnic benches, most of which are covered or down to the beach. If you don't have your own picnic, you can stock up on lunch from Sugarpine Drive-In next door, which is an amazing restaurant serving up fresh salads, sandwiches, and the best grilled cheese and gourmet soft serve ice-cream. Or, you can head there after your playtime for a treat for the whole family.
