Haverford College Nature Trail and Arboretum in Haverford is a beautiful nature getaway right in the heart of suburban Philadelphia, PA.

It is a 216 acre campus with a 2.2 mile long nature trail for all ages.  You will meander through the campus from a wooded dirt trail and a rock trail.   You will also find an arboretum on campus with gardens and flowers to enjoy.  Along the trail you will come along a pinetum and duck pond.

Please note that bikes are not allowed on the trail, but dogs are on leashes.  I would not suggest a baby stroller due to rocky trail at times, unless you have a good outdoor type stroller meant for more trails then sidewalks. A baby carrier would be a great option for younger kids that cannot walk the trail independently yet.  There are benches along the trail to stop and have a water break or snack.  At the trail entrance and at other points along the trail you will find paper copies of the trail which I suggest grabbing for you first visit.  You can also find a map online on the college website.

There is a large public parking lot at the trail head, that you will see on the map.  You will see signs as you enter campus for public parking.

There are some great options of lunch nearby less than a mile away, including Green Engine Coffee, Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant, and White Dog Café.  All kid friendly in my experience.
