A Beautiful Library on Prime Real Estate in Alexandria

Storytime at this renovated branch incorporates songs, games, and activities, and the first week of every month features a children’s book retold with yoga geared toward toddlers and kids 2 and over. The library is beautiful and has a lovely garden. It is located in Old Town, so there is much to do and see nearby, but it lacks a parking lot so street parking or utilizing a paid lot is necessary if you aren’t using public transportation.

For some fun for your little ones after a visit to the library, take a short walk to Armory Tot Lot less than ten minutes away, or start the day there where street parking is generally available. On your walk from the library to the small neighborhood playground, grab a bite at Lost Dog Cafe along the way. Pop's Old Fashioned Ice Cream is also a short distance from the library for a treat down by the Old Town waterfront.

Randi Banks
Randi (Betts) Banks grew up in New York and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. She moved to Washington, D.C. more than thirteen years ago with her husband, Eaghmon, and they love to explore the area and seek out adventure, now with their two young children along for the ride. Growing up right near the beach, they are happiest when on or near the water, so exploring the rivers, lakes, and streams in the greater DC area is a favorite pastime for their family. In addition to serving as one of the Washington, DC area ambassadors, Randi is also the Editor in Chief and Co-founder of happyly.
