Massive Museum Filled with Hundreds of Vehicles of All Kinds
This enormous museum is such a gift to families! We love to explore the Keystone Antique Truck and Tractor Museum on cold days or any day with inclement weather; it wears the kids out, is so interesting, and my kiddos LOVE all things that go! Despite the name, there is much more to see than just tractors! There are also: motorcycles, bicycles, cars, antique fire engines and police cars, and a multitude of historic relics. Outside of the museum is a LOVE sign made with various tractor parts.
There is only one tractor that is okay for patrons to sit/play on. It is directly outside of the gift shop where you purchase your tickets. My son loves playing on the big John Deere tractor, pushing the pedals, and steering it. It's also an adorable photo op! Visitors can touch all the vehicles, but again, there is only one designated for sitting. It is important to prep your children in advance to avoid their disappointment!
The sheer size of this museum makes it so that you will easily cover a mile, perhaps even two, depending on how many times your kiddos want to walk the loop of tractors! Be sure to wear comfortable footwear! You could walk the entire museum with a stroller as well. Fortunately, there are bathrooms directly in the center of the museum (at the vintage gas pumps) and also at the museum's entrance. Should your crew need a break, there is a picnic table at the front of the museum.
If your child isn't exactly a tractor fanatic, your family can still enjoy the museum, as it is filled with historic artifacts, including antique soda bottles, washing machines, vintage games, and much more. Further, there are several vehicles with their hoods popped open -- curious little ones are sure to be enamored with this--definitely an opportunity for a lesson on how it works.
A last note of warning, as mentioned above, the tickets are sold in the gift shop, which is a trove of toys and collectibles any child would want. Just a heads up so you can prep your children about touching things, whether or not you will be making any purchases, etc.
