KidsUp! Playground at Battle Point Park is an epic ferry-themed park with accessible features that make it a great choice for all kids.

Kiddos can delight in imaginative play aboard the “M/V KidsUp!”, a custom-built, one-of-kind, two-level 47-foot-long play structure built to look like a boat from the Puget Sound ferry fleet.

KidsUp! is an inclusive playground, with play features to welcome kids in wheelchairs or with other mobility or development challenges. There is something fun for everyone.

The main play structure, the ferry, offers several different opportunities for climbing up like ladders and rock-climbing-type walls. Try the big tube slide to get down! There are also monkey bars to hang from and plenty of deck to run around on. There are large orca statues to climb on that all the kids love.

Across from the ferry playground you’ll find “Rotary Beach,” a large sand play area. Your kids will love digging in the sand and playing with the sand toys. There are also pretty wildflower and herb gardens to explore. There’s an area with swings and a spot with different musical instruments that the littles will love banging on. Be sure to look for the octopus on top of the Mercedes that's being swallowed up by the sand!

The park also includes a pump track (so bring your bikes and scooters!), sports opportunities (including more rare options like roller hockey and disc golf), and an easy Forest-to-Sky trail that connects with Grand Forest.

There is a parking lot and restrooms available on-site at Battle Point Park. This playground is definitely a must when visiting Bainbridge!

I am a Massachusetts native who grew up in the suburbs of Boston and on Cape Cod. As a military spouse I have lived all over the country from Florida to California, and several places in between. My family has now settled in Virginia where I am a stay-at-home mom to two awesome girls. I love to explore and hike National and State Parks, and spend tons of time at the beach with my kids, splashing in the waves in the summer and searching for shells and seaglass in the winter. I also love running, yoga and cooking!
