King Family Vineyards in Crozet, Virginia is a fun and memorable destination with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

With over 30 acres of vineyards in the heart of Monticello wine country (where American wine was born), King Family Vineyards is a great example of what makes Virginia wine so unique. The soil, landscape and meticulous process create memorable flavors with a variety of grapes.  The vineyard is open year-round and welcomes children of all ages and even pets on leashes are permitted on the grounds. The dress code is - there isn't one!

In addition to the Vineyard and Winery Tour, the King family hosts everything from weddings to small family picnics on the lawn. If a polo match appeals to you they are hosted on the property from Memorial Day through October and you can even bring your own pop-up tent, food and non-alcoholic beverages to set up a "tailgate" vineyard style next to the polo field (this is limited to Saturdays and Sundays). Since reservations are not required year-round, you can also just feel free to pop in for a glass of wine, bottle or a flight on the lawn, patio or inside during regular business hours. Seasonally food trucks are available on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Children love wandering the open space or playing lawn games like bocce, cornhole, lacrosse and lawn golf. They also generally jump at the chance to visit the horses.

If you wish to pick up something to eat on the way, Crozet Pizza and Greenwood Gourmet Grocery are both great options that are only around five to six minutes from King Family Vineyards. The town of Crozet is adorable too, so it's nice to walk around or explore there before or after a visit to the winery.
