Talon Winery

Talon Winery, Lexington's first winery, offers great wine and so much more. 
 

Talon Winery was established in 1999 and is said to be Fayette County's first winery. It sits on 300 acres of gorgeous farmland off of Tate's Creek Road outside of Man o' War Blvd. The drive to the winery is almost as beautiful as the winery itself. Many people use this stretch of Tate's Creek Road for a Sunday drive out to the ferry. The winery grounds are spectacular and each part of the winery has amazing views of the Lexington countryside. 

As you drive up the road into the main winery grounds you will see the Wedding barn. Inside of the barn has bathrooms, a makeshift kitchen area, and a koi pond. It is rustically decorated and has enough room to accommodate 200-250 people comfortably. The barn is also temperature controlled to keep you warm or cool depending on the time of year. 

The winery offers daily tastings in their tasting room. They also offer a private room (the equestrian room) that you can rent and enjoy with up to 20 guests. Outside food and decor are allowed so it would be a great place to have a birthday celebration. 

Fridays and Saturdays are filled with music at the winery! This is where the winery becomes more family friendly! Everyone loves live music. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets and while outside alcohol is prohibited (per Kentucky ABC regulation) the winery has quite a selection of yummy wines to choose from. You can definitely find something that your taste buds will enjoy. You can find a calendar of events on their website. Make sure you pack a picnic to bring along with you while you hear from some amazing local artists and some bigger names as well.
