Valley Forge National Park is one of over 400 National Parks, right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
With 26 miles of trails, paved and dirt, there is a trail for visitors of all ages and abilities. Mowed trails through the meadows and paved trails near the visitors center will lead you to areas with a rich history. Not in the mood for walking? Don’t worry. There are bikes to rent and open air trolly tours available. There are options for cell phone tours and ranger tours as well. Ranger tours and trolly tours can be inquired about in the visitor’s center, but please note these are only offered seasonally.
The visitors center is a great place to start when visiting. There you can view exhibits and a film to learn more about the historic park. They also have a store where souvenirs, snacks, and drinks can be purchased. Right behind the visitors center, you will find a pavilion with picnic tables for you to enjoy or snack or lunch.
Around the park you will find George Washington’s headquarters and office during the war, and even trenches that were built for defense. Please visit the parks website, or social media pages to see the special events they have throughout the year for visitors. Don’t forget your camera when visiting, from nature views to historical stone buildings.
