The Westside Regional Trail is a paved jogging trail on a hill with scenic views.

There are approximately 8 miles of paved trails in Beaverton that connect the Waterhouse Trail through Tualatin Hills Nature Park on to the Westside Regional Trail through Schuepbach Park, Burntwood Park, and Hart Wood Meadows Park and ending at the Progress Ridge shopping center. The Waterhouse Trail is fairly flat and so is Tualatin Hills Nature Park, but once you get onto the Westside Regional Trail, it gets greener, quieter, and more scenic. You will essentially be heading down the hill from the top of the Westside Regional Trail to the north on down to the bottom of the trail to the south.

I personally like skipping the Waterhouse Trail because it's more urban and is near the Nike headquarters and a MAX train station. I like to park at Village Lane in Beaverton on the street, then head toward Schuepbach Park, down to Burntwood Park which has a playground, and end at Hart Meadows Park. I like that midway through my walk, we can stop at Burntwood Park Playground and get some antsy legs moving for my kids. This route follows the Beaverton Powerline Trail which has transmission towers up and down the trail with green trees aplenty and is just very beautiful and serene. But, even on a weekday, there are quite a few people out walking leashed dogs. So, you are never alone. It doesn't feel remote or desolate and you are in between residential, suburban neighborhoods with wide, expansive views of the trail. So, it feels very safe. If you choose to do just the Westside Regional Trail, it is 4 miles long.

You can choose to do different sections of the trail separately or all together. You can extend your jog even more if you choose to enter the Tualatin Hills Nature Park on one of its two paved trails. The nature park trails are better for walking rather than running though, but you will find restrooms here. There are no restrooms otherwise on the trail itself. If you choose to complete the Westside Regional Trail, you will end at the Progress Ridge shopping center where you will find plenty of refreshments. There is a New Seasons grocery store, coffee shop, French bakery, frozen yogurt, boba tea, restaurants of various cuisines and a large, modern movie theater. See you on the trails!
