Family-owned açaí shop with fresh bowls, smoothies and vegan soft serve!

A local family-owned shop that serves authentic Brazilian Açaí in delicious bowls and even vegan soft serve! This shop is filled with fresh fruits, granola and any added health options or chocolate you may need. It has a relaxed vibe with a surfboard mounted on the wall and happy mellow music. The outdoor seating is perfect for hanging with the fam and pet-friendly, so bring your doggo! If kids don’t want a soft serve, they’re sure to love the tropical smoothies and the acai's bowls are going to have you coming back later in the week. The Amazonas Bowl is their bestseller featuring açaí, banana, flax seed, strawberries, mango, chia seeds and wild blueberry granola. Don’t want all that? No problem, you can customize your bowl with the toppings you prefer. The small size is filling enough for a meal and will have you powered for your next adventure. On top of the benefits for your taste buds and physical health, there is a free (and stress-free) parking lot sure to benefit your mental health. Unfortunately, there are no bathrooms because of COVID, but there is a Whole Foods across the street.

And it's 1 mile away from the Barrington Recreation Center playground and Veterans Barrington Park!

Hannah Menakaya
Hannah Menakaya grew up in New Hampshire, eventually leaving to go to school in DC at Georgetown University. She developed her passion for traveling when she spent a semester abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. While there she explored the beautiful landscape and wildlife of the country and ventured into neighboring countries such as Botswana and Zimbabwe. Upon graduation, Hannah spent a year teaching English in Spain and traveling whenever she could. The highlight of her jet setting career was living on a boat in Mykonos, Greece, and sleeping in the Sahara desert in Morocco. Since then, Hannah landed in Los Angeles where she pursues her ultimate passion - storytelling. While she seeks to tell stories from those in the margins, she finds time to get outside and remember the serenity of nature amidst the Hollywood hustle. Feeling the sand, seeing the birds, and listening to the waves are her ideas of balance and harmony. If you ask her, she’s a professional wellness seeker, smoothie bowl artista and part-mermaid… but according to LinkedIn, she works for the production company that made Queer Eye.
