The Adventure Science Center is my kids go-to when the weather is either too cold or too hot for outdoor play. You'll likely want a couple of hours here as the place is huge (44,000 square feet) and there are more than 175 hands-on, interactive science exhibits and activities that are both educational and fun for the whole family. There's also a state-of-the-art planetarium, which has laser shows, films, and more for both children and adults. Kids love climbing area, which is really great space, but I got a little nervous as I couldn't see my kiddo at one point, so be aware and alert. Generally, the museum feels more geared towards younger children (8 and under), but some of the exhibits are really fun and interesting for adults too.

Outside food and drink is not allowed, but you can purchase food from the in-house Subway in Skyline Café on the second floor, or pack a lunch for the outside picnic tables in the lower parking lot. There's also the option to go offsite for food – for readmittance just show your receipt.

Strollers can be rented for $1 each.

The admission price can be a little high, but pay off quickly if you opt for annual memberships. Note, if you are a member of the Association of Science-Technology Center (ASTC) institution located more than 90 miles from Adventure Science Center—and you reside more than 90 miles from ASC—you are eligible for free general admission for up to two adults and four children under 18 living in the same household.
