Alden Park is an oasis of fun in a fairly busy suburb.

We found this suburb and playground to be super fun for a variety of ages! You know it's a great park and playground when you're happy to spend time there in zero degree weather! This place consisted of a sizeable neighborhood grassy area and park, with a nice playground within the park. One really cool feature at this playground is that the upper play area makes a complete circuit. Some playgrounds have this feature, but from my experience, it's really not that many. The equipment was dry, so the kids were able to safely run and chase each other in a complete circle basically. And, yes, this did wonders for tiring them out! That's definitely a mom-approved feature!

The playground also had several swings, both for big kids and babies, and bouncy animals for little ones. There are different types of slides and bumpy features to climb up, which my kids loved! There are monkey bars and stairs, too.

I noticed this park has a really big, beautiful grassy area surrounding the playground itself, which isn't always the case at every park, so it had me thinking of how we would use this space in the summertime. I think when the weather is warmer, we'll return with soccer balls, baseballs and mitts, and maybe even our tee-ball set. We love taking ball games on the go, so this spot is a great place to do that. This park did not offer much shade, so I highly recommend being mindful about arriving with sunblock, water bottles, and some sort of hats on hand for kiddos.

After getting all their wiggles out at Alden Park, we suggest heading on over to Amy's Cupcake Shoppe in downtown Hopkins for a delicious sweet treat. Your kiddos will delight in their fun selection.
