Angel Park, A Baltimore Favorite in Perry Hall
Angel Park is a playground in the Perry Hall neighborhood of Baltimore that is not to be missed- with its zip-lines, a variety of swings, climbing structures, and a multi-tier wooden maze. A true community effort to create, nearly 4,000 volunteers came together to help build and create a memorial park and amphitheater for Baltimore families to enjoy for years to come.
One of the most amazing things about this Perry Hall playground is that it was built to be accessible for all children and the play spaces feature wheelchair-accessible ramps, quiet areas for children with sensory processing disorders, therapeutic swings, and more for a truly all-inclusive playground.
Angel Park features two play areas; one for older children and the "Little Angels Playground" for younger children. Both areas are fenced with one entrance and exit available. The whole park has a solid rubber surface that makes it a great spot to play, even after a rainy spell. Features include a jungle gym, monkey bars, tire swing, and pirate ships for fun imaginative play.
In addition to the play areas, there's an adult (ages 12 and up) exercise area available. There you’ll find all-weather equipment for strength and cardio exercises. While the outdoor “gym” overlooks the playground, you’re going to need an extra adult to keep an eye on the kids if you plan on taking advantage.
For lunch or birthday parties, this special Baltimore playground also features picnic tables and covered pavilions. A bathroom is available on site and is open year-round during peak daylight areas.
Once the kids are tuckered out, walk across the parking lot and check out the Perry Hall branch of the Baltimore County Public Library. There you’ll find comfy spots to read a book and fun play areas for the kids. The area also abounds with restaurants to suit all tastes.
This park is an area favorite and can be quite busy on the first few days of nice weather. Even when busy, the size of the playground still makes it an enjoyable place to play. The park occasionally holds family-friendly events.
As a community-supported park, interested donors can help with future expansion and enhancements such as adding a new wheelchair swing, comfort station and site improvements.
