A huge playground with fabulous and unique equipment in Baltimore County.

Annie’s Playground is probably one of the biggest playgrounds you’ll ever go to. It features monkey bars, slides, climbing structures, bridges, swings, and musical elements, among other fun things. The park also has a baseball field and athletic field. Also, There is a small, fire truck themed playground in a separate area made for smaller children (four and under) that you can take advantage of, as well. However, Annie’s Playground is surfaced with recycled tire mulch. It’s best not to wear your nicest (or whitest) shoes.

Be aware, most of the play structure is constructed out of composite wood material. This can impede sightlines and make it difficult to keep track of little ones. If you’re bringing young kids, it’s probably best to have a 1:1 adult to child ratio – espeically because Annie’s Playground is a very popular spot and there is usually no shortage of visitors. Go during the week or early in the morning if you’d like to avoid the crowds.

If you’re in the mood for biking or running, you can catch the start of the Ma & Pa trail at Annie's. The trail is a 6.25 mile paved path that is perfect for stroller running. The section that begins at Annie’s Playground will provide you with scenic views of rural Harford County. The onsite bathroom is open spring-fall. If you’re looking for an amazing playground that can provide hours of entertainment, look no further than Annie’s Playground!

Our work in Baltimore is truly a family affair. Husband and wife, Matt and Katie, work together to head up our ambassador team in Charm City. Katie is a Maryland native and has lived in the state her whole life. She moved to Baltimore in 2007 after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She has been working in the field of early childhood education as a teacher and family coach for the past 12 years. Katie also holds a Masters of Education in Literacy from Loyola University. She is passionate about giving kids and families the knowledge and tools that they need to thrive. Matt grew up in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore. As a city native, Matt is a great resource on all that the city has to offer. After months of helping Katie explore the city for her role at a Happy Active Family, he decided to put his love of writing to use and officially come on board as an ambassador. Matt and Katie have two girls, ages 5 and 7. They spend their weekends camping, hiking, or exploring other hidden gems in their area. Tap into their insider knowledge by downloading the app today!
