With a very large sledding hill and a great little playground, Baker Center is a great pitstop for some family fun!

Baker Center is a great spot for community gatherings and family fun. This spot features a giant, steep sledding hill. I would recommend this sledding hill for older kiddos, as it was not only quite steep in most spots, but it was also really tall. It was too large for my kids, but I could see older kiddos having a really good time here, so if your kids are older and of the adventurous variety, be sure to bring your sleds along in the wintertime.  You can entertain the little ones at the playground in the meantime. Luckily, my kids were just happy to be there and really enjoyed the playground. It was a really cold day when we visited, so the kids warmed up with hot cocoa (nothing makes them happier!).

As I mentioned, the community center has a great little playground. There's one portion for younger kiddos, and another for slightly older kids. Oddly, there weren't any traditional swings at this particular playground, but the kids didn't seem to mind and only casually mentioned it, though this is a favorite activity of ours. There were opportunities to climb, slide, and step, which was good enough for the girls.

This is an urban community center, so the location reflects its status as being "in the city" rather than out in the suburbs. The outdoor facilities also include a basketball court, baseball, softball, and football fields, as well as tennis courts. This place really has quite a lot when it comes to urban outdoor play and it's a great place to check out..

I recommend Baker Center if you're in the West St. Paul area and are looking for an urban playground to entertain your kiddos with some outdoor play in any season.
