Recreation center with swings and a pirate ship playground structure!

A great playground located in a recreation center alongside tennis courts, picnic benches and a baseball pitch. This spot is sure to please the kidlets with its sandpit and multiple play structures, including a pirate ship! There are swings for big kids as well as babies and plenty of space for adults to mingle (socially distanced) by the picnic benches. Parents can rest assured with the soft ground padding and fences and woods that line the sides of the playground. If you're looking for even more space check out the park across the street.

Also, if you want to play some tennis, the courts are open to the public! There is a basketball court as well, but the hoops are currently closed due to COVID. Unfortunately, the restrooms are also closed due to COVID but there’s a bathroom at Clark Street, the cafe right up the street or its neighbor, Starbucks.

For a sweet treat after the park, check out Yogurt Shoppe in the same plaza as Clark Street.

Hannah Menakaya grew up in New Hampshire, eventually leaving to go to school in DC at Georgetown University. She developed her passion for traveling when she spent a semester abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. While there she explored the beautiful landscape and wildlife of the country and ventured into neighboring countries such as Botswana and Zimbabwe. Upon graduation, Hannah spent a year teaching English in Spain and traveling whenever she could. The highlight of her jet setting career was living on a boat in Mykonos, Greece, and sleeping in the Sahara desert in Morocco. Since then, Hannah landed in Los Angeles where she pursues her ultimate passion - storytelling. While she seeks to tell stories from those in the margins, she finds time to get outside and remember the serenity of nature amidst the Hollywood hustle. Feeling the sand, seeing the birds, and listening to the waves are her ideas of balance and harmony. If you ask her, she’s a professional wellness seeker, smoothie bowl artista and part-mermaid… but according to LinkedIn, she works for the production company that made Queer Eye.
