While the 5.7 acre park is technically called White Point Garden, you may hear the locals call it Battery Park as it is located at the southernmost point of the Charleston peninsula and is the focal point of the Battery. (See article “The Battery” for more information.) The area has been a park since the foundation of Charleston, despite a brief period during the Civil War when it served as a battery. Historic mortars and cannons are still on display for people to enjoy. The central point of the park is an elegant white gazebo perfecto for weddings or family photos. The park is also ideal for a game of frisbee, picnics, birthday parties and much more!
P.S. I was lucky enough to live here during a rare snow storm, and this park was even more beautiful covered in snow!
