Belvedere Square in Baltimore

Belvedere Square is just one of the many amazing markets in the Baltimore area. As a mother of young children, I couldn’t be more on board with the trend. This market style eatery allows parents to get food options to please an adult palette (think Ramen, Korean BBQ, and smoked sandwiches) while little ones can fill their bellies with kid friendly food including bagels, crepes, and pizza.

The other thing that makes this such a family friendly restaurant is that it’s fast. There’s no waiting for a table or food, you just order from the counter and grab a seat. While Belvedere Square doesn’t feature a kids corner or many kid sized tables (we did spot one behind the Atwater’s stall), it does feature a pretty large outdoor dining area that’s perfect for a sunny day. Even if you’re eating inside, the market space is so big that little ones can easily move around without being in the way.

We dined in on the day we visited, but Belvedere Square is also the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat on the run. In addition to all sorts of delicious dinner and lunch options, Belvedere Square also offers coffee and ice cream if you’re just looking for a short pit stop. Atwater’s Bakery and PlantBar also open at 8:00 every day to serve breakfast. In the warmer months, the square also plays hosts to outdoor concerts that are fun for the whole family!

If you like Belvedere Square, also be sure to check out R.House or Broadway Market for more market style eating!

Katie Raspa
Our work in Baltimore is truly a family affair. Husband and wife, Matt and Katie, work together to head up our ambassador team in Charm City. Katie is a Maryland native and has lived in the state her whole life. She moved to Baltimore in 2007 after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She has been working in the field of early childhood education as a teacher and family coach for the past 12 years. Katie also holds a Masters of Education in Literacy from Loyola University. She is passionate about giving kids and families the knowledge and tools that they need to thrive. Matt grew up in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore. As a city native, Matt is a great resource on all that the city has to offer. After months of helping Katie explore the city for her role at a Happy Active Family, he decided to put his love of writing to use and officially come on board as an ambassador. Matt and Katie have two girls, ages 5 and 7. They spend their weekends camping, hiking, or exploring other hidden gems in their area. Tap into their insider knowledge by downloading the app today!
