For a lovely picnic or beautiful hike, head over to Berry Springs, right near Georgetown.
Berry Springs Park and Preserve is a relaxing place to kick back. Ten minutes north of El Monumento this lovely, 300-acre park boasts grassy hills and lots of pecan and oak trees to admire. At Berry Springs, you’ll also find a 2.5-mile hike (or biking!) trail as well as a pond that’s great for fishing but not open to swimmers. Say hello to the donkeys, Lil' Bob and Pedro, while you are there!
Water fountains and nice picnic facilities are available. The covered picnic pavilions are available for rent and would serve as a great spot for company picnics, birthday parties, or other events.
After exploring the Inner Space Cavern (fifteen minutes north), you can head over and relax under the shady trees and enjoy a picnic lunch. Or save yourself the trouble of packing one and grab a yummy meal at El Monumento.
