A creative gathering place in Columbia Heights, with programs for children.

As it says on the website Bloombars is not easy to describe.  Essentially, it is a gathering place for parents and caretakers to share the joy of the arts with their children.  Bloombars provides a variety of experiences, including regularly scheduled puppet shows with Mr. David. This program features thirty minutes of songs, stories, and puppets.

Harambee (the practice of hope, possibility, and compassion), with Baba Ras D, draws the community closer with song, dancing, and drumming.  Dance Samba Baby with your infant or toddler. Ballet en Francais is popular for 3~8-year-olds. Bollywood Blooms for kids from three to eight explores India's most popular industry - storytelling through music and dance. 

Bloombars is a wonderful place that helps open the world to young children through song, dance, performance, and expressing themselves. They preach about compassion, being changemakers in the world, health, wellness, art, unity, and helping others. Children will love the dance classes or interactive shows with puppets who always teach them a meaningful lesson. 

Bloombars has several main objectives, a few being to building compassionate communities that nurture and support artists committed to service and social responsibility, creating meaningful connections between artists and community-based organizations, foster an environment that allows music and art to be accessible to non-artists, inspire exploration and discovery of new ideas, and empowering youth and parents to use art as an education and literacy tool.
