Botanical Gardens Playground
230 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024
This 37 acre botanic garden wonderland has everything to offer your children, and you! With multiple play areas for kids and stunning grounds, it truly inspires people of all ages - you definitely want to put this on your list. The two main children's areas are the Seeds of Wonder and Hamilton's Children's Garden, both have a lot to offer. Each week Seeds of Wonder hosts painting, arts and crafts, succulent planting, live trains that run on a track, a water area, a playhouse, bubbles, a sandbox and more on specific days which they outline on their website. If that's not enough, take a beautiful stroll to the other part of the Gardens to Hamilton's Children's Garden. This area has a giant tree-house, kids music area, a man made stream for playing in, blocks and again - so much more.
This location comes with a fee, but as you can see above, it is well worth it. If you are planning on more then one visit then a membership is the best way to go. Open 9am-5pm daily, admission is; adults $18, seniors/active military $12, youth 3-17 $10, children ages 2 & under FREE. There is plenty of parking here but it costs $2. Unfortunately there is no nearby street parking. There is a small cafe but if you're looking for something more substantial take a short drive to The Crack Shack or In'n'out, or go a few more minutes West to the 101 with even more food options.
