Explore this gorgeous Path Along the Harpeth near a Park, a Library, and a YMCA.
Heads up: new favorite walking path.....Brenthaven Bike Connector joins River Park and the YMCA via a long paved bikeway to Crockett Park. It's 7.5 miles in total, but if you go from River Park to Crockett Park and back, it's a little over 3 miles. I loved it because it's shady, hugs the side of the Harpeth the whole way, and has plenty of benches for resting or enjoying a snack. As you walk or bike along, there are several places where you can approach the Harpeth and splash around if the weather is right.
Please keep in mind that it does get crowded on the weekends, so it is probably not the best place for adults to ride bikes at those times. That said, it's perfect for strolling and walking or also scootering and biking with children that are of the age to understand the importance of staying to the right side of the path! Either way, if you can experience it with kids on the weekdays, it's generally a much more relaxing adventure for the obvious reasons.
After you are done exercising, you can head across the bridge over to River Park, which has a large pavilion, a playground, a basketball court, and public bathrooms. Within a walkable distance is the Brentwood Library which is also a gem.
Tons of unrestricted parking is available in the YMCA parking lot off Concord Road.
Note: Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash.
