The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a platform and pedestrian walkway built over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway in Brooklyn Heights.

This pedestrian walkway is a favorite destination for walkers, stroller runners, and rollerbladers, although bikes are not allowed. It’s also a peaceful, quiet spot to sit and enjoy the view. It boasts gorgeous views of Lower Manhattan’s skyline and the New York Harbor and is lined with grand townhomes and mansions. When my children were younger, we often took them for a stroll along the Promenade and finished at the adjoining Pierrepont Playground.

Fun fact: The Promenade has appeared in the movies Annie Hall and Moonstruck, among others.
