Enjoy a day at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station!

The 4.7-mile hike around Burke Lake offers some elevation shifts, is entirely suitable for all skill levels, and is packed with beautiful lake view stopping points. Benches to relax are scattered along the hike and a series of workout stations for pulls ups, sits ups and the like are constructed throughout one section of the hike. There are also many other points of interest spread out thoughtfully along the way, great if you have little ones who may get easily distracted. Volleyball courts, a disc golf course, numerous picnic areas (both accessible and tucked away), great fishing spots, a marina, an amphitheater, a nature trail off the beaten path, and two playgrounds are scattered throughout the hike. A driving range, carousel, and miniature train are offered at select times, and an ice cream shop, mini-golf, tour boats, and campgrounds are available in season. Burke Lake also features classes, camps and special events throughout the year.

There is a toddler-friendly playground, and also a significantly larger playground that will appeal to a slightly older set. They are located at two different stopping points along the hiking trail.

Camping is free for Fairfax County Residents through early to mid-November and there is only a charge for non-county residents on weekends and holidays from April to late October. Fishing licenses are required, but the lake advertises a great selection. Stop by the Information Center for maps, details and other helpful tools to get the most out of your visit.
