Cabrillo Playground is a super fun play area designed with two play structures and even a ping pong table!

This neighborhood park has a nice recreation center, tennis courts and one and a half basketball courts. The rubber ground covering is great for softer landings and the epic play structure has a little bit of everything. From climbing walls to twisty slides, monkey bars and ladders. Kids have the option of taking the stairs or the sliding down into the park from up by the rec center. There is also a big bucket swing for group swinging and a towering ropes climbing structure. The second playset is pirate themed (climb aboard, mateys!) and geared toward the smaller park goers. The sit-on, bouncy, modern day, teeter-totter is even fun for the adults to join in. There are plenty of benches throughout the park to sit on and relax while watching the kiddos, or for having a little snack.  In addition to all the great playthings and clean restrooms (woohoo!), the entire park is fenced in to provide even more peace of mind!

There truly is something for toddlers all the way up to adults. There is a beautiful little flower garden alongside the tennis courts to admire and an outdoor ping pong table for some epic matches! Its location between 39th and 38th Avenue lends itself well to grabbing a sweet treat or a bite to eat before or after playtime. This is definitely one to add to your list to check out!

Emily Coleman is a Jersey girl born and raised who caught the outdoor bug upon moving to Vermont to pursue a degree in Adventure Education and Environmental Studies from Green Mountain College. She spent most of her years before college deeply entrenched in the world of competitive cheerleading before discovering a passion for outdoor sports including mountain biking, white water kayaking, bikepacking, backpacking, slacklining, rock climbing, and skiing. Having been surrounded by children her entire life in her mother's daycare, she always had a strong affinity for kids. She moved to the mountains of Jackson Hole after graduating to coach for the local Kayak Club during the summers and nanny in the winters. Becoming a part of the Happy Active Family team felt like the perfect collision of her passion for building strong community bonds and encouraging an outdoor lifestyle.
