Capitol Riverfront's Canal Park Ice Skating Rink is Family Fun in Southeast Washington's Revamped Neighborhood!

Located along the Capitol Riverfront, Canal Park offers a fun ice skating experience for the family from November through February. During the week, the rink opens at noon and on the weekends it opens at 10 am. Adults skate for $9 and children and seniors skate for $8. Skate rentals are $5. ‘Learn To Skate’ sessions are available throughout the skating season. The park offers skating lessons for youth and adults and private lessons by appointment only. The youth group lessons are saturday mornings at 9am for ages 7-15 and 9:30 for ages 3-6. Youth hockey lessons are available Saturday mornings by appointment, and Adult lessons are availabe Sunday mornings for ages 16 and up.

Dining options right by the rink include Wise Guys Pizza (202 M St SE), Shake Shack (54 M St SE), CAVA (52 M St SE), and Five Guys burgers (1100 New Jersey Ave, SE). A short walk away, you can enjoy southern food at Due South (301 Water St SE) and ice cream at neighboring Ice Cream Jubilee or “creative global fare” at Chloe (1331 4th St SE). Walk a bit further in the other direction and you'll come across Sweetgreen (221 Pennsylvania Ave). Ice skating at Canal Park is a great activity to combine with a visit to see the interactive art exhibit Light Yards at The Yards DC.
