Caroline Freeland Park Playground is a Charming Bethesda, Maryland Spot

Great fenced in park in the middle of Bethesda with climbing options for both little and big kids. Nice and more advanced climbing options for the athletic types and slower slides for new climbers. The playground also has a nice soft surface ground (maybe playground rubber), plenty of beaches and shade too. There is a water fountain as well. This playground was renovated in 2010 to modernize the equipment and add the soft turf underneath for safety.

The park is great for younger ages and up, and it is very convenient for the area. There is also a little fire truck structure that kids will enjoy. Caroline Freeland Park Playground is well maintained and fairly clean. This is a fun and well located spot for picnic lunches while the kids run and play in-between eating.

They also have a separate, covered picnic area. Steps to the center of downtown Bethesda, Safeway and several great family friendly restaurants. Some of our favorites include Uncle Julio’s, Jetties, Matchbox, Moby Dick House of Kabob, and Sweetgreen

If it starts to rain, Be with Me Playseum is less than five minutes drive away and is a great place to take littler kids although be warned that it closes at 3:00 on weekdays. There is also great shopping right around the block that you can peruse and enjoy. The library is right next door and can easily be a part of your day plan! You can go to the library and then hit the playground right after, and then walk to Jettie's or Matchbox for a bite to eat.
