Enjoy this quiet playground near a beautiful pond!
Cedar Hill Park is a large, beautiful park in Madison, which is in the northwest area of Davidson County. There are two playgrounds, mountain bike trails, a small fishing pond, a paved half-mile loop, picnic shelters, softball fields, tennis courts, and lots of open green space.
While the park offers plenty to do, I recommend exploring its two playgrounds. When you first enter the park, you will immediately spot a tall, towering play structure. This playground is ideal for bigger kids who are willing to climb the five stories to race down the winding slide. While this looks extra fun for the adventurous types, my smaller kids enjoy the quiet, toddler playground further inside the park. To find that playground, continue driving straight into the park and you’ll see the smaller playground just past the pond. It’s tucked away in the trees, next to the parking lot. This playground is small but is conveniently next to the paved path, which loops around the pond. My kids enjoyed this little playground and being able to go back and forth from the water’s edge to the playground. The paved .5 mile loop is also a nice spot to scooter. It’s a popular walking spot so there are many power walkers enjoying this scenic walking path as well. Just past the playground, next to the porta-potty, there are a few baby swings and regular swings. There are no public restrooms available- just the porta-potty.
This would also be a perfect spot to enjoy a birthday party as you can reserve one of the many private picnic shelters that are tucked away throughout the park. Shelter 7 is next to this little playground and overlooks the pond.
