A huge park with paved paths, a lake, and excellent playgrounds!
Centennial Park is one of the biggest parks in the area. The park is divided into four sections (north, south, east, and west) and has enough activities to fill a whole day and then some. All four areas feature playgrounds as well as various pavilions and athletic fields. There are tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, baseball fields, racquetball courts, horseshoe pits, and even a skate area.
At the center of Centennial Park is a 54-acre man-made lake. The Adventure Shack in the south section of the park offers boat rentals as well as food and snacks. You’ll find bathrooms, water fountains, benches, and picnic tables at various places throughout the park. We recommend packing a picnic and snacks because you are definitely going to want to spend the day here!
The park features miles of paved paths that are perfect for biking, scootering, and stroller running. There are also hiking trails available in a couple of areas. You can see a complete list of the amenities available as well as the street address for each area here.
Due to the fact that Centennial Park is so amazing, it is often busy. However, because there are multiple sections to visit within the park, we never feel that it is overly crowded.
If you’ve never been to Centennial Park, we recommend checking out the South section first (10000 Clarksville Pike). There you’ll find a fabulous playground and can get great views of the lake from the walking trails. You’ll need to drive to access the other areas of the park (that’s how big it is!) but you won’t be disappointed when you get there!
