Chevy Chase has been around a long time, but from the friendly and helpful staff to the cozy outdoor space, age is irrelevant.

This next D.C. public library, located near the Friendship Heights Station on the Red Line, hosts the Story Time series, with regular time slots for pre-crawlers, one-year-old babies, toddlers from 18-36 months and 3 to 5-year-old kiddos. There are also several movie-oriented activities, as well as a kid’s chess club designed for older children. The library is always putting on different events for kids so it's worth checking out their website before you take a trip there to see what they are offering.

Chevy Chase Playground is just a ten-minute walk, so grab sandwiches and salads a couple of steps away at Jetties Chevy Chase for a picnic lunch at a wonderful park. If you would prefer to play inside, Busybees is about a fifteen minute walk from the library and younger kids always love playing there.

Randi Banks
Randi (Betts) Banks grew up in New York and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. She moved to Washington, D.C. more than thirteen years ago with her husband, Eaghmon, and they love to explore the area and seek out adventure, now with their two young children along for the ride. Growing up right near the beach, they are happiest when on or near the water, so exploring the rivers, lakes, and streams in the greater DC area is a favorite pastime for their family. In addition to serving as one of the Washington, DC area ambassadors, Randi is also the Editor in Chief and Co-founder of happyly.
