Do not miss a chance to visit the impressive Children's Museum of Atlanta!

Do you have a STEM student??  Then, this is a cannot miss! Touted as the ‘Museum Without Walls,’ located downtown across the street from Centennial Olympic Park, it boasts over 16,000 square feet of sheer education-through-play madness for children under the age of nine.  Children can get lost in make-believe and learning for hours and hours. The museum went through a multi-million dollar renovation recently and is bigger and better than ever! On top of several permanent exhibitions, the curators are always changing things up which means every time you go there will be something new.   Fundamentally Food; now this is farm-to-table! Imagine you are a farmer delivering your produce to a grocery store with real cash registers and buggies. With a quick outfit change, voila. Pretending to make a meal for all your stuffed animal friends and dollies is a snap in this section. Calling all Bob the Builder fans!  Tools for Solutions is where machines do all the work. Demonstrate your engineering skills by using corkscrews and cranes to transport balls through a series of tests tracks. ‘Tinkering’ is the name of the game in this borough!

Leaping into Learning is a contained area for visitors that are under five.  Tiny tots can run freely without getting into too much trouble. There are soft climbing cubes and age-appropriate toys everywhere.  When you get tuckered out, it is the perfect spot to climb into a soft lap with a favorite blankie and hear a story. Budding actors and artists, this next stop is for you! Let Your Creativity Flow is an area devoted to the arts, complete with a full-blown art studio.  You will have access to every color in the rainbow, literally! There is a large wall begging to be painted on and a real stage that will put you front and center. Put on a mini-musical for your parents!

Step Up to Science is also not to be missed.  Everything from the inner workings of your amazing, human body, to light and sound, and robotics.  Hands-on demonstrations abound. Head over to the science bar and order up your very own experiment and conduct it right there!  Finally, Gateway to the World, makes our world feel a little smaller. Several geographical puzzles and games are entertaining and educational.  Be introduced to new cultures and customs from every corner of the globe. A fun-filled afternoon for children under 10. This is not a place for pre-teens and a word of caution, it is always closed every Wednesday.
