Explore this Small Waterfall that's Accessible for Small Hikers!

If you are traveling along I-40 from Nashville to Knoxville and find yourself needing a quick break near Cookeville, City Lake Falls is a great place to stretch your legs.  It’s less about 0.6 of a mile in and out from the parking lot to the small falls and it’s very flat and doable for the whole family.  At the falls, there is ample room to spread out for a picnic on the rocks.  My girls had fun climbing above the falls (doable even for a four-year-old).  Most of the path is paved as well, making it doable with a heavy-duty stroller.  The parking lot is on the lake and we saw a couple of fishing boats and kayaks.  Halfway in, there is a large deck with an old structure - we weren't sure what it was (it was locked and so you couldn't enter).  There was litter and graffitti but the rest of the trail / hike was clean and litter-free.

Directions: To get there from downtown Cookeville, go east on Highway 70N, cross over Interstate 40 (at Exit 290), turn left on Poplar Grove Road, and go straight onto Bridgeway Drive. Keep going to the lake.
