Cortina Woods Park and Playground

Cortina Woods is a great little park for flying a kite, playing outdoor games, or picnicking, along with playground fun.

This park offers a just big enough playground structure, featuring climbing opportunities, slides, a tire swing, tunnel, and swings. This suburban park is located on enough acreage to offer a large, wide-open space immediately surrounding the structure, so there's plenty of room for lots of outdoor play. I highly recommend bringing a kite on a windy day, and a blanket and picnic on any day. The next time we visit here, I would also be inclined to bring along a baseball mitt and balls, and our sticky glove ball game, or a tee-ball stand and balls. The tire swing is a nice addition, as not every local playground has one, so the girls are naturally drawn to this feature. Visiting this park in winter, we did not see restrooms, though it's very possible Porto-Potties are brought in from spring through fall.

Parking was ample, and I like it when parks such as this offer off-street parking. There was a small parking lot dedicated to the park.
