Coyote Basin Is a Smaller and Less Crowded Park and Playground Option in the Phoenix Area
The Coyote Basin park and playground is located directly off the 101 and is adjacent to Costco. The park's location makes it perfect for spending an hour or two before heading off to the surrounding stores to get a few errands done.
Even though the park is technically in a busy area with shops and the Interstate, it is tucked into a Phoenix neighborhood and feels pretty secluded. There is enough green space between the playground and Costco, as well as fences and a large wall between the park and the Interstate. In fact, it has such a large green space area that people will bring their RC airplanes to fly here! It is a great spot to feel like you are getting out of the hustle and bustle for a couple of hours while still being in the city!
The playground is fun for the kids, and while it is small, the equipment is newer and well-kept. There are two sections, one for older kids and one for younger. They both have a couple of slides and a few fun climbing features. As mentioned, it is small, but combined with kicking a soccer ball around or throwing a baseball in the large grassy area, it can be a fun mini outing!
Fur babies are also allowed at the park, but please be sure to bring poop bags to clean up after your dog as they do not have any available there!
Heads up: there are no restrooms here, so just be aware of that before heading over!
