An engaging playground on the Upper East Side suitable for both toddlers and bigger kids.

If you're looking for a clean and bright place for your children -- both toddler and school-age -- to play on the Upper East Side, look no further than Dekovats Playground. On the corner of York Avenue and 90th Street, just steps from FDR Drive and at the entrance to Asphalt Green's swim facilities, this playground always seems to draw a big crowd, both on cold days (the sun shines beautifully in this park) and on warmer days when the river breeze and the water features provide some much-needed respite from the Manhattan heat.

There is a popular, yet small, swing set -- with two baby seats and two regular swings. On either side of the swings, you'll find two playgrounds -- one very specifically tailored to the toddler set with small climbing areas and a sandbox, and a separate area for the older children with higher obstacles and bigger slides. 

There is a public bathroom at the nearby entrance to Asphalt Green.
