Spend the Day on the Water at Delaware Seashore State Park!

Delaware Seashore State Park is a great place to explore and camp. There are around six miles of beach with two lifeguard-monitored swimming areas, and fishing and boat rentals out of Indian River Marina. With access to both the ocean, bay, and inlet, there is endless outdoor fun for everyone and the inlet is a great place for fishing.

There are two nature preserves at the park, and the wildlife is reflective. It’s a popular stopping point for migratory birds, so there is impressive bird watching, but in addition to binoculars, make sure to bring your insect repellent!! There are six trails with different landscapes and varied scenery and they are family-friendly.

These beaches are also typically less crowded than the ones closer to the towns, and there is room to spread out. The campgrounds can get crowded for tent campers without much space between, but the RV sites are good and they have three-point hookups and the park is clean. There are also two-bedroom cottage rentals (book ahead) and a restaurant and store at Indian River. It’s a fun place to explore and relax and the opportunities for outdoor fun abound!

There is also a playground on the premises.
