Desert Botanical Gardens is a beautiful spot to visit for a full day of discovery. 
 

Located on the east side of Phoenix, Desert Botanical Garden is a 140-acre tranquil landscape that amazes everyone who enters, with 50,000 desert plants to see within the red rocks of Papago Buttes. There are trails to explore, exhibits, events, classes, and more. On the trails you get to experience the unique landscape of plants who thrive in some of the hottest and driest parts of the world. There are five loop trails that everyone in the family can enjoy. Each loop has something a little different to see and view. There is seating along the trail. There are several exhibits to explore and they are rotating as well. There is and have been exhibits like Chihuly in the Desert, Cactus Clubhouse, Mighty Monarchs, Ofrenda, Sonoran Light, and Spring Butterfly Exhibit. 

Desert Botanical Gardens hosts numerous classes, events, and program. There are classes like Desert Landscape School, Cactus Clubhouse, Girl Scout Patchwork, Cactus Kids Club, Teens in the Garden, and cooking/ wellness classes. There is always something to learn while visiting the garden. 

After walking around, you will be hungry. Enjoy dining at Gertrude's with farm to plate options or eats from the Patio Cafe.

Tips:

- There isn't much shade on the trails. Be sure to have water especially during the hot summer months. 
- Come early or later in the day during the summer months to beat the heat. 
- Get a membership to save money if you visit more than 2 times. 
- The trails are stroller friendly.
