I don't normally hang out at malls - but when there are reliable playgrounds and food staples (Zoe's!), I'm there on an overcast or cold day at the beach, for sure :) In the middle of Destin Commons, you will find a play area perfect for the younger set - kids toddling to about 4-5. My kids love to play on all the animals and figures - there are some small slides - and get their wiggles out. There is a train on the premise (just in front of the movie theater) and you pay a few bucks and ride a loop through the outdoor mall. My girls loved it and want to do it time and again. My husband or I usually ride with them, because it travels out of sight.
Tip: In the same mall, Bass Pro has a decent size aquarium that my kids enjoy.
