Diamondback Brewing Company is fun for the whole family.

We're always on the hunt for great kid-friendly breweries in Baltimore and Diamondback Brewing Company's recent move to McHenry Row in South Baltimore has established them as a Baltimore brewer to become familiar with.

The tasting room is modest in size but big on atmosphere. The stained wood and industrial finishes give Diamondback Brewing a cozy feel that invites you to stay awhile. The brewery hits the mark not only for producing high-quality craft beer and food but also for creating a kid-friendly south Baltimore restaurant where people can gather.

The indoor space may be on the smaller side, but Diamondback emphasizes that their goal is to be a family-friendly brewery. (The patio is larger, making it slightly more kid-friendly if you've got a restless brood.) The menu is limited to pizza and soft pretzels, but they are wood fired which accomplishes the goal of finding one thing and doing it perfectly. Many of their pizza offerings are seasonal and take advantage of local, in-season produce.

We found that the most kid-friendly portion of the tasting room was the back area. There, our kids enjoyed playing Foosball and checking out some behind the scenes views through windows that overlook the brewing operation. Diamondback doesn’t offer coloring pages or crayons, so you’ll want to bring your own if you think you’ll need them!

The bathrooms on site were clean, well maintained and large enough to accompany your little ones in case they need a hand. We were advised that families with children are always welcome but the taproom starts to get busy around 5:00 PM. There are plenty of family-friendly restaurants in South Baltimore, but if you want delicious food and great craft beer, Diamondback Brewing in Baltimore should be on the top of your list!
