This park is a hidden gem in Monroe that you will want to check out.

Dickerson Park has a playground, basketball court, tennis courts, disc golf course, greenway, and chicken coop. The playground has a large play structure with several slides, climbing, stairs, and monkey bars. There is a swing set with two toddler swings. Near the playground is a fenced-in chicken coop and garden. The kids love watching the chickens run around. The 18-hole disc golf course is a great practice area for beginners and intermediate players. The park runs along the Bearskin Creek and Greenway. A large covered picnic area with tables and a large grill is a fantastic place to host a gathering.

The Bearskin Greenway is the newest addition to the greenway system in Monroe. This is a 1.1-mile asphalt greenway that will connect to Don Griffin Park, the Union County Farmers Market, and Belk Tonawanda Park. With that greenway and Historic Downtown Greenway loop, the whole trail is around three miles. This is a fun way to go between parks, get some exercise, and see the city.

Next to the park is the Dickerson Recreation Center that has a weight room, gymnasium, and afterschool programs. The after school programs provide fun educational and cultural activities. Students have the opportunity to take advantage of homework assistance and unwind from a long day at school. After homework is done, students can participate in gardening classes, arts and crafts, gym games, team-building exercises, and more. Staff pick up at various schools around the area. They even offer Parent’s Night Out during March through September on the third Friday of every month.

Once you're done playing or walking the greenway, enjoy the great local food and treats the area has to offer.
