Domino Park Playground, opened in Domino Park in Brooklyn in summer 2018, is a hit among children -- especially in the summer when the breeze from the East River provides a nice respite from the heat. In the winter, it tends to be very cold -- and mostly empty from what I've seen.

The playground itself is both eye-catching and interactive. A series of "mini-industrial experiences", as the designers call them, bring children through the sugar refining process in playground equipment that is designed to resemble the actual sugar factory that once operated on the site. Whether children realize this or not, I'm not sure. But what they do seem to realize is that this playground is fun and loaded with lots of interactive equipment including an elevated cabin, towering silo, ramps, tunnels, catwalks, and slides.

While parts of the playground cater to the younger toddler set, much of it affords fun and climbing adventures for older children as well.
