Dorothy Bolte Park is a cute and quiet residential park.

This playground is right outside of Tilden Regional Park in Berkley and is located just off the side of the road in a beautiful residential area.  There are beautiful views overlooking the city and there are plenty of places to picnic.  The upper play area has a massive sand pit, which is great for digging. It also has a small playground perfect for tots. They can ride the bouncy toy, play with the gear feature, and climb up and down the play structure fairly independently.

They can then take the massive, 40 foot, concrete slide down to the lower level to enjoy a playground better suited for older children.  With monkey bars, climbing features, and a spinning wheel to swing on, this sandy playground is sure to please.  The concrete slide makes it all worth checking out.  Both kids and adults will get a kick out of it!

There are lots of trees and grassy areas, as well as a small creek for nature play. Several benches are located throughout the park in nice shady areas, perfect for relaxing and watching the kids play. It would also be a lovely place for a picnic. Make sure to visit the restroom before heading out to play, as there are none on site. There is plenty of street parking and very rarely busy!

The concrete slide makes it all worth checking out. Both kids and adults will get a kick out of it!

Emily Coleman
Emily Coleman is a Jersey girl born and raised who caught the outdoor bug upon moving to Vermont to pursue a degree in Adventure Education and Environmental Studies from Green Mountain College. She spent most of her years before college deeply entrenched in the world of competitive cheerleading before discovering a passion for outdoor sports including mountain biking, white water kayaking, bikepacking, backpacking, slacklining, rock climbing, and skiing. Having been surrounded by children her entire life in her mother's daycare, she always had a strong affinity for kids. She moved to the mountains of Jackson Hole after graduating to coach for the local Kayak Club during the summers and nanny in the winters. Becoming a part of the Happy Active Family team felt like the perfect collision of her passion for building strong community bonds and encouraging an outdoor lifestyle.
