Little ones will love this park, and there are even tennis courts for the big kids!

On a strip with multiple coffee and sandwich options, is Douglas Park in Santa Monica. The fun thing about this park is its multiple man-made ponds that have little rivers to connect each pond. And in them, DUCKS! Super fun for kids and they're alongside a bunch of rock formations great for climbing. For a more secluded form of entertainment, there is a gated playground area with a sand floor. The playground, located between two tennis courts, has four structures with big kid and baby swings.

In between the playground and the ponds is a restroom with a changing table and a mini skate park. Great for little kids and tweens. There is plenty of metered street parking (no meters on Sundays), making this excursion stress free. In addition, across the street, there is Bru's Wiffle an acclaimed breakfast, brunch, lunch spot known for their chicken and waffles. However, there are so many options on the menu, it'll be great for the whole fam.

Hannah Menakaya grew up in New Hampshire, eventually leaving to go to school in DC at Georgetown University. She developed her passion for traveling when she spent a semester abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. While there she explored the beautiful landscape and wildlife of the country and ventured into neighboring countries such as Botswana and Zimbabwe. Upon graduation, Hannah spent a year teaching English in Spain and traveling whenever she could. The highlight of her jet setting career was living on a boat in Mykonos, Greece, and sleeping in the Sahara desert in Morocco. Since then, Hannah landed in Los Angeles where she pursues her ultimate passion - storytelling. While she seeks to tell stories from those in the margins, she finds time to get outside and remember the serenity of nature amidst the Hollywood hustle. Feeling the sand, seeing the birds, and listening to the waves are her ideas of balance and harmony. If you ask her, she’s a professional wellness seeker, smoothie bowl artista and part-mermaid… but according to LinkedIn, she works for the production company that made Queer Eye.
