Get out in nature at Edwin Warner Park!

Edwin Warner Park is part of Nashville's Warner Parks system and is a little bit further south than its more popular, connected neighbor Percy Warner (don’t forget Edwin Warner also extends across highway 100 at the Old Hickory intersection too – it’s less visited and more flat over there).

What I love about Edwin Warner is that regardless of why you visit, there is something for you – whether it’s a trail run, a hike, a dog run, or a Nature Center visit. I must admit – my favorite season is fall when the air is crisp and the leaves are orange (and perfect).

I always park at the center with a couple of trails nearby. There are some hills, but the routes – regardless of the trail you take – are simple enough.  It’s shady, dog friendly and fairly kid-friendly too unless it’s rained or recently rained where it can get super mucky and slippery.  However, the paved trail is perfect for both strollers and bikes.

There aren’t vistas per se, but the woods are lovely and help make the space feel more remote than it actually is.  My kids take to the trails right by the nature center and after listening to a nature program (check weekly schedules), you can take trails as short as a quarter of a mile with educational signs along the way.

Edwin Warner Park also offers picnic shelters that are available for rent. They're located on Vaughn Road off Old Hickory Blvd.

To reserve the space call (615) 862-8408 (Mon.-Fri., 8 am-noon) or visit the Metro Parks Reservations Office (Mon.-Fri., 8 am- 4 pm) located at 2565 Park Plaza.
