Elisabet Ney Museum is a great spot dedicated to artist Elisabet Ney.

Known as Texas’ earliest art studio, the castle-like building located in Hyde Park was once the workspace of German-American sculptor Elisabet Ney. Ney, who died in 1907, painted portraits of many European leaders before coming to the Lone Star State where she continued to capture now-historical figures. Much of her work can still be found in her studio (now museum), but the U.S. Capitol and the Smithsonian also display her pieces.

Each spring, the museum team puts on Ney Day, a celebration of women in the arts, sciences, and civics found in on the surrounding parkland with music, booths, and more events fun for the whole family.
