Peaceful Views and No Crowds in Yosemite.
This is another beautiful hike in the Tuolumne Meadows area. It’s a bit more challenging than Dog Lake, particularly the steep first mile, but you are rewarded with a beautiful and peaceful alpine lake surrounded by pine trees and Unicorn Peak. It's also a little longer, 4.6 miles, so it's good for slightly older kids or young ones up for a challenge.
We were pleasantly surprised by the low number of people on this trail despite its close proximity to Tuolumne Meadows Campground and suspect that the steep start discourages many people. If you want something a little easier, we recommend Dog Lake or Lembert Dome.
