Monocacy Hill Recreation Area is a 428 acre stewardship forest located in Amity Township , Douglassville, PA with great hiking loops for the whole family. The Creek Trail winds down through the forest before crossing over a creek. There are sections of the trail that have a boardwalk or tree strumps if it's muddy - and these are also just fun for the kids to play on. The Monocacy Hill Trail has a somewhat steep uphill section that rewards hikers with a spectacular view at the top. The hikes are listed as moderate and they do have some uphill sections, but they were manageable for a five year old. The trails are really well-marked at approximately every half mile, making it a fun area to let the kids do the navigating. There are labels on some of the trees and educational signs dotted throughout the trails too. Leashed dogs are also permitted to join in the fun!
There are restroom facilities at the trailhead and some picnic tables. There is a small parking lot and limited parking along the road, but it can get full.
