Ropewalk Restaurant on Fenwick Island is a memorable experience.

Ropewalk Fenwick Island is a member of the Ropewalk family of restaurants with locations in Ocean City, Bethany, Federal Hill and Chincoteague, VA.  The Fenwick location is pretty close to the larger Ocean City spot as well as the Bethany location, but they specialize in a more seafood-based menu to help provide something new and different.

All of the Ropewalk restaurants are extremely family-friendly but unlike the other larger locations, the Fenwick Island location is only a 210 seat venue. This gives this kid-friendly restaurant a much quieter, more intimate vibe (as opposed to the beach party atmosphere you’ll enjoy at the Ocean City, Maryland Ropewalk.)  There’s a playground just out front that’s closed off from the street to protect the kids and it’s in plain view of just about every seat, so you can watch them frolic from your table while you enjoy a cocktail or appetizer.

Onsite parking is available as well as some side street parking, but honestly, if the parking lot fills up then it’s likely the restaurant and bar have filled up as well.  We’ve been a few times both at the beginning and end of the season and we have never experienced a crowd or a wait.

What we have experienced is excellent service and delicious food.  The kids’ menu won’t disappoint those who appreciate the old standbys (mac & cheese, burgers, hot dogs, etc) and the regular menu has something for everyone.  There’s fillet mignon, crab cakes, rockfish, shrimp, steamer pots, burgers, short ribs… you get the idea. Just about every delicious thing you’d want to see at a comfort food place at the beach.  It doesn't get much better than a family-friendly restaurant and oyster house that actually serves mouthwatering food!

Make sure you check their website if you’re interested in going on a night when you can take advantage of your favorite special.  It could be $2 tacos or BOGO desserts. You can even find ½ price burgers, steam pots or entrees depending on when you visit.

The bathrooms were clean and navigating a stroller or a wheelchair is a breeze helping to make this one of Coastal Highways' most kid-friendly locations.  If you're looking for a kid-friendly restaurant in Fenwick Island, you're not going to do much better than the Fenwick Ropewalk!
