Delicious, made-to-order breakfast and lunch that the whole family will love when you head to First Watch.
 

Located in Matthews, this chain breakfast spot is one of our favorites. First Watch is a breakfast, brunch, and lunch favorite that specializes in both traditional dishes and innovative creations that are all prepared to order. When you are seated, you are asked if you would like a pot of coffee or anything else to drink. They have coffee, teas, juice, and fresh-pressed juice blends. Their coffee is great, and we love that they bring you a pot so you can refill when you get empty. The fresh-pressed juice is also great such as the morning meditation with orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger, agave nectar, and beet. Their menu has a large variety of breakfast items including traditional foods like eggs to order, pancakes, waffles, French toast, omelets, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, egg sandwiches, breakfast tacos, and more. They also have some unique creations like lemon ricotta pancakes, breakfast hash, eggs benedict, power and superfoods bowls, frittatas, and seasonal items. For lunch, you can still enjoy breakfast menu items as well as sandwiches, burgers, salads, and soups. Our personal favorites are the kids' waffles and French toast, market hash, morning market omelet, and the florentine benedict.

First Watch has been around a while with the first restaurant opening in 1983 in California. This chain is slowly making its way across the country, and I personally am so glad they did. This location is one of our personal favorites, and the staff and food are always great. You can sign in to wait in line before you even drive over during busy hours. This is perfect for younger kids so you don't have to wait long to be seated. This place is my kids’ favorite, and they are always asking to come here.
